Wherever you live in the world I can direct you to a practitioner to help your back pain

If you have complex or long standing back pain it is important to find a practitioner who provides treatment supported by the scientific research.  Depending on where you live I can provide a variety of options

If you live in Victoria, Australia

It would be worthwhile making the effort to see me at my rooms in Boronia.  The easiest way of doing this is by sending me an email with a short outline of your problem.  If you live in regional Victoria, put this detail in the email and I can communicate with you on the logistics of an appointment.  You can then expect:

  • An email with a link to an online survey (1 hour to complete).  This information helps me to understand your problem and allows the in-rooms time to focus on a more detailed assessment of the diagnosis
  • An appointment of 1-2 hours depending on the complexity of the problem
  • A full verbal and written explanation of the diagnosis and treatment options at the end of the assessment
  • A detailed report provided to you and any relevant practitioners (e.g. your family doctor)
  • If you live too far away for me to provide treatment I will make contact with a suitable practitioner closer to where you live.  If necessary I can review your progress periodically to make sure the treatment program is on track

If you live in other states of Australia

I am a partner in the largest network of physiotherapists in Australia.  There are a significant number of practitioners across Australia that follow the methods of assessment and treatment I use.  Please send me an email with short outline of your problem including where you live.  Skype also works on jonford1.  You can then expect:

  • A response within 48 hours
  • Details of an experienced practitioner who you can contact to organise an appointment.  Alternatively I can organise for the practitioner to contact you
  • A full verbal and written explanation of the diagnosis and treatment options at the end of the assessment
  • A detailed report provided to you and any relevant practitioners (e.g. your family doctor)

Alternatively you can gain access to my services or one of my expert team of physiotherapists or specialist pain physicians virtually (see below).

If you live outside of Australia

I can provide assessment and treatment to people with back pain all over the world and can provide a similar service to in-rooms but without a detailed examination.  This service is best suited to people with more severe and persistent types of back pain who have not responded to "hands-on" treatment from experienced practitioners.  Please send me an email with short outline of your problem including where you live.  You can then expect:

  • A response within 48 hours with details to organise a Skype based assessment.  If Skype does not work I can call you by telephone
  • An email with a link to a more extensive online survey (2 hours to complete).  The questionnaire is quite long but for more severe cases the information really helps me to understand your problem
  • A 1 hour assessment via Skype
  • A full verbal and written explanation of the diagnosis and treatment options at the end of the assessment
  • A detailed report provided to you and any relevant practitioners (e.g. your family doctor)
  • Scheduling of a treatment program with me every 1-2 weeks via Skype (if the treatment is primarily exercise and education) or organisation of treatment with a local practitioner (if a hands-on approach is needed)

Pricing and payment

My standard rate is $250 per hour, however this varies based on:

  • The location/format of the treatment (e.g. treatment provided over Skype is cheaper)
  • The financial means of the person (I am able to discount for people in genuine financial difficulties)
  • The number of sessions required (I am able to discount if a more intensive program is required)

All in-rooms treatment must be paid for on the day of consultation.  All Skype based services must be paid for in advance.
